Why should my supplements be "pharmaceutical grade?"
When you fill a prescription at the pharmacy, you know what you are getting in that medicine. But supplements and vitamins are not regulated the same way. This leads to manufacturers taking shortcuts such as: 1) the form of the vitamin might be cheap and poorly absorbed by the body, 2) the dosage on the label may not match what is in the pill 3) it may be filled with additives, colors and allergens 4) the raw materials may not be tested for toxins such as mercury or lead 5) the manufacturing process may not follow all the best standards or practices.
